I guess it's not indexed, but it finds my local contacts. Scroll down to the Replies and forwards section and check the box next to Open.

It will actually search and find contacts in my local address book from the Search Contacts screen. Office 365 Email can be accessed from a PC or Mac, a mobile device such as a smart phone or tablet, or via the web. The only workaround I've found is to UNcheck Microsoft Outlook from the indexed locations. If I do the same search in Search Contacts from the Contacts screen, I get no results at all. In some cases, I may have a contact that's in AD, but also in my local address book, with more notes in my local address book. It seems to first pull from AD, and if nothing matches there, searches my local address book. I can search for contacts within the main Search People box, and get results.
